Chuck Horton 1950 ~ 2003 BOUNTIFUL-

Charles Lay Horton, 52, passed away Monday, August 11, 2003 in Dallas, Texas while on a business trip. Chuck lived his life with an unparalleled intensity. He loved his wife and children passionately. We have been honored to be his family.

He was born November 14, 1950 in Shreveport, Louisiana, the son of Charlie D. and Laura Avelene Lay Horton. Chuck married Kathryn R. Wodushek on May 15, 1981 in Kirchberg, Germany. Chuck graduated from USAF Academy in 1972, and was a Weapons School Graduate in 1980 from Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada. He earned his masters degree in Business Management from the University of New Mexico.

He was stationed at Hahn AB, Germany; Alamogordo AFB, New Mexico, Kunson AB, Korea, Kirtland AFB, New Mexico; Torrejon AB, Madrid, Spain; Hill Air Force Base, Utah and retired with 22 years of active duty as a Lieutenant Colonel. Chuck flew the F-4 and F-16 Fighter Jets for 18 years and flew in the first Gulf War.

He worked for Paymentech and JP Morgan Chase as a program manager. Chuck belonged to the Order of Daedalians. Chuck loved flyfishing, flying, golfing, playing racquetball, and was an accomplished singer and guitarist. Surviving are his wife, Kathryn, two sons, Jesse Robert Horton, Michael Charles Horton, one daughter, Laura Kathryn Horton, mother, Avalene Horton and brother, Aubrey Horton. Preceded in death by his father and sister. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 19, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Hill Air Force Base Chapel. Friends and family may call Monday from 6 to 9 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
